Morning Reflections

Right on Time Anyway…

This morning the clocks jumped forward, but the ocean didn’t seem to notice. The sun was already shining brightly over Venice Beach, lighting up the water in that soft silver glow that makes everything feel calm and hopeful. The waves rolled in gently and surfers floated patiently beyond the break, waiting for the right moment to catch a wave.

Even though the time changed, the birds still knew where to find me.

Pegleg was the first to greet me, just like always. Some things never change. His familiar arrival made me smile because it reminded me how nature keeps its own rhythm.

Soon after, Domino came flying toward me and Honey Girl followed along, not letting the time change get in the way of our morning routine. Watching them glide in always feels like a little reunion.

The pier was peaceful this morning. Seagulls perched on the rails, pigeons gathered nearby, and the sunlight sparkled across the calm water. Boats moved slowly in the distance while Catalina sat quietly along the horizon.

One of my favorite moments was holding up my message that perfectly captured the spirit of the morning:

“This is my pledge to be more mindful of the small blessings that I am presented with every day.”

Sometimes the smallest things become the biggest reminders.

A bird landing nearby.

A calm ocean.

A familiar greeting from Pegleg.

Friends like Domino and Honey Girl showing up right on cue.

Even when the clocks change, gratitude always keeps perfect time.

Moments like these remind me that life doesn’t need to be rushed. The simple blessings are always there waiting for us to notice them.

And today, the ocean, the birds, and the sunshine made it easy.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.

Morning Gratitude Thought:

Even though the clocks sprung forward today, nature kept perfect time. Sometimes the smallest moments bring the greatest gratitude.
