Evening Reflections
Reflections Carry Me Home…
Tonight felt like one of those quiet, golden exhale kind of evenings… the kind where everything slows down just enough for you to really see it.
The Venice Canals were glowing softly, like the day didn’t want to leave just yet. The reflections were so still and clear, it felt like the world had created a mirror just to remind me how beautiful everything already is.
I looked up and saw black-crowned night herons flying north, like silhouettes drifting across a painted sky. There was something so peaceful about their direction… like they knew exactly where they were going.
And then—ducks everywhere.
Floating, gliding, weaving through the water like little brushstrokes.
But the moment that stayed with me most…
was looking down and seeing a mama duck with all of her tiny babies swimming close behind her.
So small. So soft. So perfectly in sync.
It’s always those moments that feel like little gifts—
unplanned, simple, and somehow everything.
Tonight reminded me of this:
“A grateful heart transforms challenges into lessons
and ordinary days into blessings.”
And that’s exactly what it felt like.
Nothing extraordinary… yet somehow completely magical.
Just a walk back to my car,
and a heart a little fuller than before.
Capturing beauty, sharing light
