Evening Reflections
Lucky to Be Blessed…
There are certain places that always feel like a quiet exhale… and for me, the Venice canals are one of them.
Tonight, on St. Patrick’s Day, the light softened everything. The homes, the palms, the still water—it all seemed to pause just long enough to be noticed. The reflections were so clear they felt like a second world beneath the surface, gently reminding me how much beauty exists when we slow down enough to see it.
And then there were the ducks… everywhere.
Every turn I took, another one appeared. Gliding, splashing, pausing, gathering. It felt like the canals had come alive with them, like little messengers of calm and joy. And every once in a while, without trying, they lined up just right—one behind the other—like a quiet, fleeting moment of order in a beautifully imperfect world.
It made me smile because life isn’t always neatly lined up. Most days are a little scattered, a little unpredictable. But then there are these moments… where everything just flows. Where nothing is forced. Where you realize that maybe things are exactly as they’re meant to be.
Tonight felt like that.
Standing there, watching the reflections ripple and the ducks drift by, I felt it so clearly:
Lucky to be blessed.
Not because everything is perfect… but because I noticed.
Because I was there.
Because I slowed down long enough to see the beauty that was already waiting for me.
And maybe that’s the real gift… not getting everything in a row, but recognizing the moments when they quietly fall into place.
Grateful for this evening.
Grateful for the stillness.
Grateful for the reminders all around me.
Capturing beauty, sharing light.
