Morning Reflections

Recognized by Wings

Such a beautiful morning. The sun was shining with that late-summer glow, and everything felt just a little softer—like the season was lingering, not quite ready to let go. As I walked along the pier, the birds looked at me curiously. It was almost as if they weren’t sure—was it really me? I’d only been gone a little over a week, but to them, I imagine that feels like a lifetime. And then, recognition. The gentle coos, the fluttering wings, the way they gathered near. It’s one of the most comforting feelings in the world—to be remembered by the ones who greet you without words. I love seeing how happy they are. Their joy is simple, pure, and contagious. Isn’t that what life is all about? Being present, being known, and finding happiness in the quiet connections that make us feel at home. This morning reminded me: love shows up in feathers, in sunlight, and in the way we’re welcomed back.

Morning Gratitude Thought

Grateful for the birds who remembered me, for the sun that lingered, and for the feeling of being home. Grateful for joy that flutters in quietly and stays.
