Morning Reflections
Pier Companions and Cloud Reflections
This morning began with Pegleg’s familiar greeting—his presence always feels like a quiet blessing. He walked beside me, step for step, all the way down the pier and back again. There’s something deeply comforting in being recognized by a creature of habit, as if the morning itself nods in acknowledgment. The clouds were soft and scattered, mirrored in the water below. Surfers carved through the waves, and at the end of the pier, the pigeons gathered like old friends. I called out for Honey Girl, but another came instead—just as joyful, just as open. Their happiness is contagious, and I love knowing I can give something back to them, even if it’s just presence and care. I wish people could see them the way I do—not as background noise, but as beings full of spirit and story. They contribute to my mornings in ways I can’t always explain, and I’m grateful to return the favor.
Morning Gratitude Thought
Grateful for Pegleg’s loyalty, for cloud-kissed waters, for joyful pigeons, and for the quiet exchange of love between species.
