Evening Reflections
Pegleg at Sunset
Venice Beach was glowing tonight.
The kind of sunset that makes you pause—pink clouds stretching behind me, sailboats drifting like slow-moving dreams, pelicans gliding in perfect rhythm with the breeze. It was peaceful, soft, and full of presence. And then, Pegleg appeared. I hadn’t seen him this morning, but tonight he made sure I did—descending from his perch like a familiar friend who never forgets. There’s something so tender about being recognized, even by a seagull. It reminds me that connection doesn’t need words. It just needs consistency. I love ending my day at the ocean. It’s where everything settles. Where the noise fades and the beauty speaks. Tonight was a perfect closing to a beautiful day.
Evening Gratitude Thought
Grateful for sunsets that wrap the day in softness. For Pegleg’s sweet greeting, a reminder that I’m seen. For sailboats and pink clouds, for pelicans in flight. For the ocean’s quiet way of saying “you’re home.” Grateful to end the day where peace meets presence.
