Morning Reflections

My Own Blessings...

There is something magical about arriving at the pier before the rest of the world wakes up. This morning it was just me, the birds, and the sound of the waves crashing against the pilings. The sunrise painted everything in gold, and for a little while, it felt like time had slowed down.

Honey Girl flew in right on cue for her peanuts, as excited as ever, while Pegleg happily followed me down the pier like an old friend joining me for our morning walk. These little moments never get old. They remind me that joy doesn’t have to be loud to be unforgettable.

Today’s message couldn’t have been more fitting:

“Never jealous. Never intimidated. Never in competition. I’ve got my own blessings.”

Standing there with the ocean stretching to the horizon, I realized how true those words are. Nature never competes. The waves don’t compare themselves to yesterday’s waves. The sunrise doesn’t try to outshine another sunrise. Everything simply becomes what it was created to be.

I’m learning to do the same.

Every morning I wake up with another chance to witness beauty, to spend time with my feathered friends, and to be grateful for this incredible life. That is more than enough.

Today, I’m simply thankful for my own blessings.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
