Morning Reflections

Most Unexpected Magic…

Today was one of those crystal-clear days where everything feels possible. The kind of blue sky that makes the ocean look like it’s smiling back at you. I walked down toward the pier, excited to do my usual ritual of feeding the birds… only to find the pier was closed.

For a moment, it felt like the story had changed. But then something beautiful happened. The lifeguard boat sped across the water, slicing through the calm like a brushstroke of red and white. A sailboat drifted peacefully in the distance, enjoying the day at its own pace. And even though I couldn’t go onto the pier, the birds still found me. Some of them met me in the parking lot as if to say, We know where you are.

I held up my little pink note that said, “Never give up. Shifts can happen in the most unexpected magical ways.” And suddenly, it felt like the ocean itself was agreeing.

The pier being closed didn’t stop the magic. It just moved it. Instead of standing over the water, I stood beside it. Instead of tossing food from the rail, I shared the moment from the lot. The birds adapted. I adapted. And the joy still arrived right on time.

It reminded me that beauty isn’t tied to one path, one plan, or one place. Sometimes it shows up in detours. Sometimes it meets you where you didn’t expect it. And sometimes it teaches you that even when something feels “closed,” your heart can still be wide open.

Today was proof that magic doesn’t cancel itself. It simply changes form. And I am grateful for every version of it.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.

Morning Gratitude Thought:

Today I’m grateful for detours that turn into discoveries. Even when plans change, beauty still finds me. Magic just chooses a new doorway.
