Morning Reflections

Welcome Barks, Coffee Wings, and a Skyward Sentinel

Pegleg greeted me with his happy bark—loud, loyal, unmistakable. Honey Girl landed lightly on my shoulder, her crooked little stride already part of my rhythm. Clubby touched down too, balancing like a dancer. And today, a new coffee-colored arrival fluttered in—I’ve named her Mocha. They’re all starting to gather names, little identities shaped by their personalities and feet. Many carry small injuries—things most wouldn’t notice, but I do. It’s how I recognize them. And it's why I wish more people would keep the beach clean… so these bundles of joy don’t get hurt. Above it all, Adonis perched like a statue, watching the morning unfold with quiet grace. He didn’t stay long, but long enough. Long enough to say, I see you.

Today's Gratitude:

  • Grateful for the familiar and the new.
  • For names that arrive like whispers.
  • For birds who greet me, and those who simply watch.
  • And for the beauty of being welcomed—again and again.
