Evening Reflections

Moments Are All We Have…

Tonight, I walked in Venice Beach for sunset. It’s always special here—so much going on, especially with all the eclectic people. The mural, palm trees, graffiti walls, bubbles, and the full moon above. I love seeing all the different silhouettes in the fading light. I stayed around after for the Venice holiday sign lighting. I thought it started at 6 o’clock, so I stood there waiting and waiting. It was probably good I got the time wrong, because I might not have stayed that long since I’d been up since 3:30am. I’m usually in after sunset. It was fun to see the snow and the guy on his bicycle in the middle of the street, thinking everybody was staring at him—when really they were just waiting for the lights to come on. Finally, at about 8:45, they lit up. It was worth it. In the end, moments are all we have.

Evening Gratitude Thought:

Grateful for eclectic people, murals, moonlight, patience, and the reminder that moments are all we have.

Silhouetted palm trees line the horizon against a vibrant orange and yellow sunset sky at the beach.
