Evening Reflections
Looking at Each Other…
Tonight’s walk around Oxford Basin was soft and golden, the kind of evening that feels like a gentle bow at the end of the day. I found myself face-to-face with the great egret—me with my camera, him with his stillness. I always wonder what birds think when we point lenses at them. Do they feel seen? Do they wonder what we’re searching for? He looked at me looking at him, and in that moment, it felt like we understood each other. The sunset wrapped the basin in warm light, and the world slowed down. I love ending my day this way—watching the sky shift, feeling the hush settle in, and sharing space with creatures who live by rhythm, not rush. It feels like this is how life is meant to be. Quiet, present, connected.
Evening Gratitude Thought:
Grateful for the great egret’s gaze, for the sunset’s hush, and for the quiet joy of ending the day in stillness and shared wonder.
