Evening Reflections

Lit by the Same Sun…

Tonight, at Marina del Rey, the sky stayed clear as the sun slowly melted into gold. The harbor was calm, like it knew something sacred was happening. The water held the light just a little longer, rippling it back to me in soft yellows and quiet blues.

The hibiscus glowed in the last warmth of the day, reaching without effort, just being what it is. Out on the water, the grebes were dancing again, circling and spinning as if the sunset were music only they could hear. Watching them always reminds me that joy doesn’t need an audience. It just needs presence.

There was no rush tonight. Boats drifted, reflections lingered, and the sky reminded me how connected we all are. No matter where we stand or how different our paths look, we’re all lit by the same sun. The same light finds us, holds us, and sends us gently into the night.

I stood there longer than usual, grateful for stillness, for beauty, and for these small rituals that keep my heart open. Sunset always feels like a quiet promise. A reminder that even when the light fades, it leaves something behind. Grateful for another evening of noticing.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.

Evening Gratitude Thought:

Clear skies, golden water, hibiscus glowing, and grebes dancing in circles of joy. A gentle reminder tonight that we are all lit by the same sun. Grateful.
