Morning Reflections
Lined Up With Love…
There are mornings that fill your heart before a single word is spoken. Today was one of those mornings.
As I walked onto the Venice Pier, all of my feathered friends were already there, lined up along the rails as if they had been waiting just for me. Seeing them all together is one of the most beautiful welcomes I could ever imagine. It reminds me that joy is often found in the simplest moments.
We have a new addition to the flock, and I named him Romeo. It didn’t take long to figure out his personality. He spends his morning chasing after all of the girls, adding a little comedy to an already perfect sunrise.
High above, Adonis was in his usual spot, quietly watching over the pier. Then, right on cue, Honey Girl flew up from behind, ready for her favorite peanuts. She never forgets our little routine.
The best part came when I stretched out my hand. One by one, then all at once, the pigeons landed on my arm until it was covered with fluttering wings and tiny feet. A pile of pigeons. A pile of happiness. Moments like these remind me how deeply kindness connects us, no matter the species.
Today’s little reminder couldn’t have been more fitting:
“Kindness inspires. Kindness inspires. Kindness inspires.”
I’m so grateful for these mornings, these friendships, and this beautiful place I get to call home.
