Morning Reflections
Kindness Has Wings…
This morning felt like fall. The skies were gray, the air was cool, and everything felt a little quieter and softer by the ocean.
Davide was there painting his beautiful art, capturing another little piece of Venice. Down on the beach, a dog was having the best time chasing the birds along the shoreline.
And then… here came the wings.
No matter how many times I see them flying toward me, it never becomes ordinary. Their excitement is so beautiful. The flybys, the wings overhead, the way they circle around me before settling along the railing. I truly believe they recognize kindness. They know who shows up for them, who cares for them, and who has earned their trust.
Pegleg was there, like always, making sure I saw him. And then sweet Angel came walking toward me. There is something so beautiful about seeing that little white face coming my way.
Soon the railing was filled with pigeons, all lined up against the gray sky and calm ocean. It was one of those mornings when nothing extraordinary had to happen for everything to feel extraordinary.
My message today says:
“Kindness costs nothing, but it can brighten someone’s whole day.”
And maybe kindness does even more than that. Maybe it grows wings. Maybe it travels farther than we ever realize, touching people, animals, and little lives we may never know we changed.
The perfect morning. Gray skies, cool air, beautiful wings, and a grateful heart.
Forever grateful.
Capturing beauty, sharing light.
