Morning Reflections
Hot Pink Courage…
This morning, before the sun even had a chance to rise, the sky over Marina del Rey was the most incredible shade of hot pink. The kind of color that stops you mid-step and reminds you that beginnings don’t have to be quiet to be meaningful. Sometimes they arrive boldly, unapologetically, painted across the sky.
Standing there, watching the light reflect on the water, I felt the weight and beauty of this day. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a reminder that progress doesn’t always come in leaps. It comes in steady movement, in choosing to keep going even when the path feels slow or uncertain.
And right on cue, Pegleg appeared. My first greeting of the morning, just like always. His presence felt like a quiet nod from the universe, a reminder that love, recognition, and purpose show up when you keep showing up too.
The hot pink sky slowly softened as the sun began to rise, shifting into golds and blues, but the message stayed the same. Keep moving forward. Even when it’s hard. Even when it’s slow. Even when all you can do is show up and stand still long enough to notice the beauty.
I am deeply grateful for mornings like this. For color, for light, for wings in the sky, and for reminders that every step forward matters.
Capturing beauty, sharing light.
