Morning Reflections

Here Come the Birds…

Some mornings leave a mark on your heart before the day has even begun.

The sunrise slowly climbed above the horizon while the moon still lingered overhead, as if neither wanted to leave. With the tide pulled back, the beach stretched out in quiet stillness, and the clouds drifted across the sun, giving the morning a peaceful, mysterious glow.

Then it happened.

Here came the birds.

There really isn’t a feeling I can compare it to. Seeing them fly toward me with such excitement fills my heart every single time. Their flybys never get old. It’s one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever experienced.

The pigeons lined up on the railing, patiently waiting, and Honey Girl, true to form, snuck up from behind, ready for her peanuts before anyone else. She always makes me smile.

When I reached the end of the pier, I held out my hand… and suddenly the sky was full of wings. One after another, they came flying in. Moments like these remind me that trust isn’t built with words. It’s built through kindness, consistency, and showing up day after day.

Today’s quote couldn’t have been more fitting:

“Take more pictures. Let things go. Love deeply. Notice the little moments. Dream big. Choose peace. Life is too short for anything else.”

Those little moments are often the biggest blessings.

I’m so grateful for another beautiful morning, another sunrise, another moon overhead, and another day to be welcomed by wings.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
