Morning Reflections
Gray Skies, Grateful Heart…
Some mornings arrive wrapped in color. Others arrive wrapped in quiet.
Today was one of those beautiful gray June mornings where the ocean and sky blended together, and everything seemed to move with a calm purpose. Adonis was waiting in his usual spot, watching over the pier like an old friend. Seeing him there always feels like a familiar hello.
Then the pelicans began their journey.
One after another they flew north in a perfect line, wings barely moving as they skimmed above the water. I looked south, and there came another group, following the same invisible path. They looked like they had somewhere important to be, and somehow they all knew the way.
The pigeons were already lined up along the railing, patiently waiting for breakfast. Their excitement never gets old. They remind me that joy can be found in the simplest rituals.
One of my favorite moments came when I noticed a lone rower gliding quietly through the middle of the pelicans, with giant ships resting in the distance. Everyone was on a different journey, yet somehow they all shared the same morning.
Today’s reminder said:
“The beautiful thing about life is that you can always change, grow and get better. You are not defined by your past or your mistakes.”
Nature lives that message every single day. Every sunrise is another chance to begin again.
Today, I am grateful for gray skies, faithful wings, familiar faces, and another morning that reminded me how beautiful simply showing up can be.
Capturing beauty, sharing light.
