Evening Reflections
Grateful Tides at Daybreak…
The morning opened softly over Marina del Rey, the sky brushed with gentle clouds that caught the first golden light of sunrise. The water reflected that glow like a quiet promise that today would hold something beautiful.
Even before I reached my usual spot, I could see a surfer already waiting, studying the rhythm of the ocean and hoping for the perfect wave. There’s something inspiring about that patience, trusting that the right moment will come.
As always, my feathered friends made sure I didn’t walk alone. Honey Girl landed right in her usual place, eyes bright and hopeful for her favorite peanuts. She never misses a morning, and her consistency feels like a warm hello from nature itself.
Clubby was there too, balanced gracefully on the pier, strong and steady despite everything she’s overcome. Watching her always reminds me that resilience can be quiet and beautiful.
Adonis perched high on the pole, surveying everything like a watchful guardian. From above, he seemed to be keeping track of the entire morning unfolding below him.
And Pegleg — Pegleg had a lot to say today. He followed along, calling out with his familiar voice, making sure I knew he was there. His presence always makes me smile. There’s something comforting about being recognized and greeted so enthusiastically by these incredible birds.
The pigeons were especially happy this morning, flying toward me with that joyful energy that never fails to lift my spirit.
Moments like this remind me why my morning walks mean so much. The ocean, the birds, the light, the rhythm of the day beginning — it all feels like a gentle reminder that gratitude doesn’t have to be grand. It lives in the small, consistent blessings that show up every single day.
I held up my message — “Express gratitude daily, because the universe loves a grateful heart.” Standing there with the sunrise, I could feel the truth of those words in every direction.
These mornings are never exactly the same, yet they always bring the same feeling — peace, connection, and a deep appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us. And I am always, always grateful for that walk.
Capturing beauty, sharing light.

Morning Gratitude Thought:
Grateful for golden skies, loyal bird friends, and another beautiful morning where the ocean, the light, and the smallest moments remind me how blessed this life truly is.
