Evening Reflections

First Sunset of August…

August arrived the same way the best moments often do… quietly.

Tonight I walked the Ballona Creek Bike Path as the sky faded from soft gold to pastel blue. The bright pink bougainvillea seemed to glow in the evening light, adding color to an already peaceful end to the day. The tall palms stood watch above everything, and the path stretched into the distance, inviting anyone willing to slow down for just a few minutes.

One little message caught my attention and made me smile:

“Watch more August sunsets than Netflix.”

It was such a simple reminder, but a powerful one. There will always be another show to watch, another notification to check, another reason to stay inside. But sunsets never repeat themselves. Every evening paints the sky a little differently, and every one is an opportunity to pause, breathe, and remember how beautiful the ordinary can be.

I’m excited to see what August has in store, one sunrise and one sunset at a time.

Grateful.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.

Hand holding a note saying watch more sunsets near blooming pink bougainvillea at golden hour.
