Evening Reflections

Counting Blessings Beneath the Evening Sky...

Tonight, at Ballona Creek, the day quietly folded into one of those sunsets that reminds me how much beauty is waiting for us when we slow down.

The bougainvillea was glowing in brilliant shades of pink, the sky softened into warm gold and blue, and the seagulls were all making their way back toward the beach. Watching them head home felt like the perfect ending to another beautiful day.

Then I looked up and saw the crescent moon already shining above me, patiently waiting its turn. As if that wasn’t enough, a tiny hummingbird darted over and perched just long enough to make sure I noticed him. Sometimes I think nature has the sweetest way of saying, “I’m glad you came.”

A pair of coots floated quietly through the water, bobbing their little heads as if they were sharing a conversation only they could understand. Moments like these don’t ask for anything except our attention.

The quote I carried tonight couldn’t have been more fitting:

“I will keep counting my blessings, knowing I can’t count that high.”

That’s exactly how this evening felt. One blessing after another. One quiet reminder after another. More than I could ever count.

Grateful for another sunset. Grateful for another walk. Grateful for another day.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
