Morning Reflections

Deus and the Morning Light

The birds met me at my car today, as if joy had feathers and knew the sound of my arrival. Each one, different and beautiful, greeted me with a quiet kind of magic. Some carry injuries—missing toes, missing feet—and yet still they fly, still they show up. At the end of my video, the little one without feet stood gently in her truth. I named her Deus, a quiet testament to resilience. Domino and Honey Girl were there—inseparable companions, soft like rituals. New faces circled in, uncertain yet already dear. The tide was low. Dogs ran. Surfers glided. Reflections stretched out like memories against the wet sand. I went back later and Pegleg came to greet me in the afternoon. Looking around at all that is good reshapes everything. The world doesn’t change—we do.

Morning Gratitude Thought

  • The birds met me with joy before the day began.
  • Deus reminded me that wholeness isn’t defined by limbs but by presence.
  • Domino and Honey Girl continue to teach me about devotion.
  • Low tide revealed the mirror of motion—dogs, surfers, sky.
  • Pegleg’s afternoon greeting brought things full circle.

A handwritten inspirational quote about the ripple effect is held up against a blurry beach background.
