Morning Reflections
Closer Than You Think…
What a beautiful morning on the pier. The sun was shining over the water, the Santa Monica Pier was visible in the distance, and before long, my morning became exactly what I love most: wings everywhere.
The railing filled with pigeons, each one waiting for their turn. Honey Girl was right there, of course, making sure I knew she was ready for her peanuts.
And then… here came the wings.
They took off and began their flybys, circling around me again and again. No matter how many times I experience it, I don’t think I will ever get used to how beautiful it feels. There is something extraordinary about being recognized and trusted by these little souls. Their excitement is contagious.
And before I left, Pegleg made sure to find me too. He never lets me sneak away without saying goodbye.
Today’s message couldn’t have been more fitting:
“You didn’t receive this by accident. Keep going. Something wonderful may be closer than you think.”
Maybe sometimes we’re so busy looking ahead for the wonderful thing that’s coming that we forget to notice the wonderful things already surrounding us.
Today, mine had wings.
So grateful. So blessed. And always thankful for another morning beneath this beautiful sky.
Capturing beauty, sharing light.
