Morning Reflections
Chosen by the Wild…
There was a little opossum this morning at the end of the pier. I wanted to help him right away, but I had a client to get to. So I made a promise to myself: if he was still there later, I’d make sure he got to a safe place. He was. And I did. It felt so good. I know opossums aren’t everyone’s favorite, but they matter. They eat the bugs and things that aren’t good for us. They have a purpose. The sunrise was beautiful—soft light over the ocean. The birds were as happy as ever. I always love how Domino comes to me when I call her. She was the first ever to come to me. The original Pegleg was there, and Pegleg number two. Both missing the same foot, both full of life. Brownie was there with her little hole in her foot. And Deus—sweet Deus, who has no feet—was there too. I usually see her near where I park by Starbucks, but she figured out there are peanuts at the pier. They’re all such beautiful creatures. But we need to be more aware of the trash that’s left around. It gets caught in their feet. It changes their lives. I’m so happy I get to make a difference for them, just as they do for me. I think we all bring joy to one another. And I’m so happy they chose me. And down by the pier, the paintings by @davide_piubeni added even more beauty to the morning. His art feels like a conversation with the ocean—colorful, soulful, and full of life.
Morning Gratitude Thought:
Grateful for the opossum I helped, the sunrise, the birds with their brave little feet, and the reminder to protect them from harm.
