Morning Reflections

Blend Into the Light…

There are mornings that whisper… and then there are mornings that sing.

Today sang.

A black crowned night heron stood lined up with the pigeons, almost as if he were trying to blend in. But there was no hiding him. His striking eyes, his stillness, and those little punk rock feathers lifting in the breeze… he didn’t blend in at all. He reminded me that sometimes we try to fit into places we’ve already outgrown, when really, we were meant to stand out exactly as we are.

And then the birds came.

Wings rushing toward me, one after another, like joy with feathers. It’s become my greatest happiness… that feeling when they fly toward me instead of away. It feels like trust. Like connection. Like a quiet kind of magic you can’t explain, only feel.

Pegleg made sure to greet me, right on cue. There’s something so grounding about that consistency, that familiar presence. It’s like the morning saying, you’re right where you’re supposed to be.

Out beyond the pier, a surfer caught a wave—rising, gliding, letting the ocean carry him forward. Another reminder that life moves best when we move with it, not against it.

And through it all, the breeze kept lifting those wild little feathers on the heron’s head… like nature’s way of saying, don’t tame what makes you different.

Believe in the magic of your soul.

The world needs your sparkle.

Grateful for mornings like this… where everything feels alive, connected, and exactly as it should be.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
