Evening Reflections
Blazing Into the Tide – Venice Beach Sunset…
Tonight was windy. Cold. The kind of cold that makes you question your life choices for a second when you step out of the car. But the sky… the sky made it worth everything.
The clouds were thick and dramatic, rolling in layers over the ocean. The pier lights were glowing softly against the gray, and the waves were crashing hard against the sand. It felt wild. Powerful. Alive.
And then there it was — that fiery strip of orange just above the horizon. The sun refusing to go quietly.
Even with the wind whipping and the air biting at my cheeks, I felt so warm watching it.
I held up a little note against the sky:
“May the Year of the Fire Horse bring you unstoppable energy, bold success, and blazing happiness.”
Standing there with the waves crashing in front of me and the pier stretching into the stormy sky, that message felt real. Not soft. Not delicate. Strong.
The ocean doesn’t shrink when it’s windy.
The sun doesn’t disappear just because clouds roll in.
And neither do we.
Sometimes beauty is gentle and pink and calm.
And sometimes it’s fierce and roaring and blazing at the edge of the sea.
Tonight was fierce beauty.
Windy and cold — but so beautiful.
And as I watched that last line of fire melt into the water, I felt it deep in my chest:
There is a flame inside each of us that no storm can put out.
Capturing beauty. Sharing light.

Evening Gratitude Thought:
Even when the wind is cold and the waves are crashing, the sun still finds a way to blaze through. Tonight, I’m grateful for fierce beauty — the kind that reminds me that storms don’t take away the light… they make it glow brighter.
