Morning Reflections

Birds Know My Name…

This morning on the Venice Pier felt like stepping into a living welcome message. The ocean was calm, the sky brushed with soft streaks of light, and before I even settled in, birds were flying toward me from every direction.

Pegleg was the first to greet me, standing there like the keeper of the morning shift. I always smile when I see him. There’s something grounding about familiar wings in a world that changes so fast.

As the birds gathered, I noticed how happy they seemed. Excited. Expectant. Fully present. Their joy is contagious. It reminds me that happiness doesn’t need a reason. Sometimes it simply shows up when you show up.

I held my note in my hand that said:

“The amount of good things in life depends on your ability to notice them.”

And that felt like the whole morning in one sentence.

The light on the sand, the sound of wings, the quiet rhythm of the waves, the little moments most people might walk past without seeing. These are the treasures. The tiny miracles that build a beautiful life.

Every morning, I think I’m coming to feed the birds… but the truth is, they feed my soul right back.

Grateful beyond words.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.

Morning Gratitude Thought:

This morning on the Venice Pier, birds came flying toward me from every direction and Pegleg was first to say hello. I am so grateful for my little family on the pier that greets me with such joy every day.

Five scenic coastal sunset images showing yellow sticky notes against beach and ocean views with dramatic skies.
