Morning Reflections
Bird Celebration For My Mom's Birthday
This morning felt like a celebration in feathers. All the birds came out—as if they knew it was my mom’s birthday. A snowy egret stood quietly on the Pier, taking in the view. You don’t see them up there often, and his presence felt like a rare blessing. The pigeons were bursting with joy, fluttering around me, and Adonis caught himself a fish, balancing on top of the pole like a proud fisherman trying not to slip. Pegleg greeted me like always, and Honey Girl nestled on my shoulder, grounding me in the moment. It was one of those mornings that felt like a gift wrapped in wings and sunlight. I know my love for birds and animals comes from my mom. She taught me to be kind—to people, to creatures, to the quiet beauty of everyday life. She taught me to notice, to care, to celebrate the simple things. I am forever grateful to her, and I hope today she feels the love she’s given reflected back in every direction. Happy birthday, Mom. The birds knew it was your day today.
Morning Gratitude Thought
Grateful for a morning filled with wings and warmth. For snowy egrets, playful pigeons, and Adonis with his catch. For Pegleg’s greeting and Honey Girl’s quiet presence. Grateful for my mom, who taught me to love deeply and live gently. May her birthday be as beautiful as the life she’s helped me see.
