Morning Reflections:

Barks, Waves, and a Pocket Full of Peanuts

Pegleg greeted me right on cue, barking like the dock was his kingdom. Adonis perched high above—just long enough to nod a silent hello before slipping back into sky. Honey Girl trotted in with her crooked-foot charm, always making me smile. Most of the birds seemed to sleep in today. But the ones who showed up? They were peanut-ready and full of joy. Below, surfers lined up in neat rows, bobbing with the tide, waiting for the swell. Above, birds nibbled and fluttered and followed me like morning music. Peanuts, it turns out, are a universal love language.

Birds Seen Today:

  • Pegleg — barked his trademark welcome
  • Adonis — perched in passing, dignified and brief
  • Honey Girl — strutted in shoulder-bound sweetness
  • The Sleepy Flock — slow arrivals, but happy hearts

Today's Gratitude:

  • For mornings that start slow.
  • For barks and brief visits.
  • For the way peanuts spark happiness—in wings, waves, and wandering hearts.
