Morning Reflections
A Celebration in the Air…
What an absolutely breathtaking morning at Venice Pier!
The sky was filled with dramatic gray clouds, with beautiful golden sunlight finding its way through. Every direction I looked, there was something wonderful to see. Even on a cloudy morning, the world has a way of reminding us how beautiful it is.
And then came the wings!
Oh, the wings! Everywhere I looked, pigeons were flying in every direction. Some were soaring high above me, others were swooping toward the pier, and some were coming right toward me. It was like a celebration in the air!
I couldn’t stop looking up. It was absolutely breathtaking.
My sweet Honey Girl came to spend some time with me, snuggled up close, reminding me how special these little connections have become.
And then Crybaby (the seagull) gave me the surprise of the morning! I was filming in slow motion when she suddenly swooped down and grabbed peanuts right out of my hand! I certainly wasn’t expecting that! What a wonderful moment to capture.
The birds were jumping into my bag, lining up along the railing, and filling the sky with their beautiful wings. Their excitement was contagious.
As I watched them flying in so many different directions, I thought about how much life has to offer when we open ourselves to new possibilities.
“New possibilities really do feel limitless when you look up.”
That’s what this morning reminded me of.
We don’t all have to fly in the same direction. We don’t have to wait for the clouds to disappear. There is beauty in being ourselves, following our own paths, and finding joy in the moments right in front of us.
I never could have imagined how much these beautiful birds would change my life. What started as simple visits has become something I treasure every single day.
Sometimes the greatest gifts in life aren’t things at all. They’re experiences, connections, laughter, and those unexpected moments that take your breath away.
Today was one of those mornings I will carry in my heart.
Look up. Spread your wings. Life is full of beautiful possibilities.
