Evening Reflections
Your People Look Up…
Tonight’s walk along the Ballona Creek Bike Path felt like one of those evenings that quietly reminds you how much beauty can fit into an ordinary day.
The bougainvillea glowed in shades of pink and purple as the sun slipped away. The ducks floated by without a care, leaving gentle ripples behind them. For one brief moment, they almost lined themselves up perfectly. Almost. It made me smile because life is often like that. We think everything has to line up just right, but sometimes the beauty is found in the almost.
Behind me, the Strawberry Moon was rising, warm and golden. I turned around again and again, not wanting to miss a single moment. A lone duck drifted peacefully across the water while a plane passed overhead, carrying people toward places unknown. Everyone was on their own journey, yet for one quiet evening, we all shared the same sky.
The little note I carried said:
“There are people who ask you to look at the moon. Those are your people.”
I think that’s true. The people who pause to admire a sunset, notice a flower blooming along a bike path, or call you over because the moon is rising… those are the people who remind us that wonder is still alive.
Tonight, I was grateful for the ducks, the flowers, the moon, the quiet water, and another beautiful sunset that asked nothing from me except to notice it.
Grateful.
Capturing beauty, sharing light.
