Evening Reflections

Where the Sunset Waited…

Tonight felt like stepping into an old country song written by the sky itself.

My dad and I drove slowly down a quiet dirt road while the Texas sunset turned everything gold, crimson, and soft. We stopped more than once because the beauty kept asking us to pay attention. A cow stared me down like she had something important to say. An owl rested quietly on a pile of dirt while a hawk soared overhead and another watched from a tree branch silhouetted against the evening sky.

The moment that stayed with me most was watching the sun slowly disappear below the horizon with the silhouette of the pump jack standing in front of it. A true Texas sunset. The kind that makes the whole world feel still for just a minute.

A western kingbird sat peacefully on the barbed wire as if it too was soaking in the moment, and in the distance, a horse looked toward me like he remembered me somehow.

Tonight reminded me that hope can return quietly. Sometimes it arrives through open skies, dirt roads, birds in the wind, and the people we love beside us.

“Never give up hope. Things can change in the blink of an eye.”

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
