Morning Reflections

When the Wings Circle, My Heart Remembers…

The ocean greeted me calm today — a mirror of quiet, holding sky and city softly in its reflection.

My last walk at the pier this year wasn’t loud or dazzling… it was gentle. Sacred in the smallest ways.

They came from every direction, spiraling overhead like a quiet celebration only birds know how to choreograph. Their wings stirred the air with familiarity, trust, and a kind of joy that doesn’t need words.

Pegleg — always first — landed close enough to say, “I was waiting.” Clubby hopped near with her brave one-foot balance, carrying resilience like a badge of honor.

Honey Girl, with her soft eyes and peanut expectations, reminded me that simplicity can be nourishment too — when shared with love.

This year gave me mornings filled with feathered hellos, tiny rescues, shelled peanuts, and circling wings of excitement. The ocean, the birds, the moon through clouds — they all carried the same message:

Beauty shows up for you when you show up for it.

Kindness returns when you release it.

Gratitude grows when you speak its name.

I walk away from 2025 with hands emptied of peanuts… but a heart filled to overflowing.

Thank you, 2025.

Thank you, wings.

Thank you, calm before the rain.

I carry your light forward.

Capturing beauty, sharing light — always.

April

Morning Gratitude Thought:

Some mornings the birds fly toward me. Today, they flew around me — circles of excitement, trust, and belonging. And it hit me gently like rain I already love: Joy doesn’t always land in your hands. Sometimes it just circles your heart —reminding you that you are seen, known, and loved. I’m grateful for the circles, for the calm, for the tiny miracles that know my name.
