Morning Reflections

When the Ocean Turned to a Lake — A Venice Pier Morning…

This morning’s walk on the Venice Pier felt unreal in the sweetest way. The ocean was so calm it looked like a lake — smooth, still, almost like it was holding its breath with me. I’ve never seen it like this before.

Snow-dusted mountains stood quietly in the distance while palm trees kept their watch over the shoreline. The sky was gentle, painted in soft winter light. And then, like always, the birds found me. They didn’t fly past me… they flew toward me, wings full of excitement and trust.

The baby stole the show today — big, bright eyes, a tiny voice, and a heart so soft you could almost hear it beating in the quiet. She knows her name, and she comes when she hears it. There is nothing sweeter than being recognized by something so small and sincere.

Pegleg was first to greet me — my familiar feathered friend, steady and faithful. Clubby was there too, graceful even with her one foot, reminding me that beauty and resilience walk hand in hand.

Everything felt still, yet so alive. Calm, yet so full. Simple, yet so beautiful. Grateful. For the peace. For the birds. For the ocean. For mornings like this.

Capturing beauty, sharing light ✨

Morning Gratitude Thought:

Still waters, snowy peaks, and little wings flying toward me. God meets me in the calm, speaks to me through the small, and reminds me that peace can feel loud too. Grateful for another morning I was meant to live.

A yellow ticket held up against a beachfront skyline with apartment buildings and palm trees at sunset.
