Morning Reflections

We’ve Been Waiting for You…

This morning felt like a celebration.

Before I even reached the pier, the birds found me. They came flying from every direction, doing their happy flybys that somehow seem even more exciting every single day. I never get used to that feeling. If anything, it becomes more meaningful with every sunrise.

As the sun climbed through the clouds, they lined up on the lifeguard tower as if they were saying, “We’ve been waiting for you.” It’s impossible not to smile when you’re greeted like that.

The best moment of the morning came when I was finally able to catch the pigeon who had been tangled in string. I’ve been trying for weeks, hoping I’d get one chance to help her. Today was that day. Untangling those tight loops from her feet reminded me that even small acts of kindness can completely change someone’s day… or, in this case, a little bird’s life.

Adonis was in his usual spot, watching over the pier like he always does, while the flock continued their joyful flybys overhead.

My little note said, “It’s the last day of July 2026. Let’s make it epic.”

I think we did.

Grateful for every sunrise, every wingbeat, every reunion, and every chance to make even one small difference.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
