Evening Reflections
Two Grebes in the Glow…
Tonight, at the marina felt like a deep exhale. A soft breeze moved across the water while the sky stayed wide and clear, holding warm color with no clouds to interrupt it. Boats rested quietly in their slips, their masts drawing gentle lines across the glowing horizon.
Two little grebes floated together, side by side, as if they had planned to meet the sunset. They drifted slowly, unhurried and content, enjoying the calm of the evening. Watching them felt like a lesson in how to be still without feeling empty.
Nearby, hibiscus blossoms stretched toward the fading sun, reaching for those final threads of light before night arrived. Even the flowers seemed aware that this was a moment worth savoring.
I held a small handwritten message in my hand that said, “Let your optimism illuminate every corner of your existence.” It felt like the perfect companion to this scene. Clear sky, quiet water, and two birds floating peacefully into night. Optimism doesn’t always shout. Sometimes it glows.
Moments like this remind me that peace doesn’t need drama or spectacle. It simply arrives when we slow down enough to see it. Grateful for breezes, golden light, two little grebes, and a message that turned a sunset into a reminder.
Capturing beauty, sharing light.
