Morning Reflections

The Birds Bring the Sunshine…

Some mornings, the sky arrives wrapped in gray clouds, but the Venice Pier has taught me that sunshine doesn’t always come from above. Sometimes it comes on wings.

This morning the birds were already lined up on the railing, watching and waiting with those sweet little faces that never fail to make me smile. Seeing their excitement is something I look forward to every single day. It’s one of the happiest parts of my life.

I called for Domino, and just like always, she came flying over. Moments like that never get old. Pearl has learned our morning routine now, and watching her grow more confident each day is such a gift. Before I left, Harlequin made sure to stop by and say goodbye. Those little moments mean more than words can express.

People often think happiness has to be something big, but for me it’s found in quiet mornings, gentle waves, familiar feathers, and friends who greet me with open wings.

The quote I carried this morning couldn’t have been more fitting:

“Do more of what makes you happy.”

Every morning on this pier reminds me that joy grows wherever we choose to return with love and gratitude.

I’m so thankful for these beautiful souls and for another morning to share with them.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
