Morning Reflections

That’s What Love Does…

This morning began quietly by the boats as the sun rose over the marina. The light reflected softly on the water, turning everything gold. It felt like the kind of morning that gently reminds you how lucky you are to be here.

From there, I ran to yoga — breath steady, heart open — grounding myself before heading to the pier.

The surfers were already lined up, waiting patiently for their waves. My friend’s husband was surf foiling, gliding above the water like he had borrowed wings from the sky. Watching him felt like watching courage and joy meet in motion.

Then came my favorite part — the birds. They were as happy as ever to see me. Circling, landing, rushing toward me with that familiar excitement that never gets old. Every day just keeps getting better and better.

And here’s something magical — did you ever notice pigeons have tiny heart shapes on their noses? Once you see it, you can’t unsee it. That’s no coincidence. That’s design. That’s love hidden in plain sight.

Adonis was high up on the pole, and when he flew, his wingspan stretched so wide it felt like the sky expanded with him. Powerful. Effortless. Majestic.

As I walked back toward my car, I saw Davide Piubene painting on the sidewalk. Venice captured on canvas while Venice lived and breathed all around him. Art meeting reality in the most beautiful way.

It was such a perfect Valentine’s Day — not because of anything flashy, but because love was everywhere. In the boats. In the surfers. In the birds. In the paint strokes. In the way the day unfolded.

Every day just keeps getting better and better. That’s what love does.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.

Morning Gratitude Thought:

Love isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s sunlight on water, wings in the sky, and tiny heart shapes you almost missed. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it. Grateful beyond words. 💛

A handwritten note held up against a sunset marina backdrop with boats and orange sky.
