Evening Reflections
Slow Enough to See…
Tonight, Venice Beach reminded me that some of life’s greatest gifts aren’t things we chase, they’re moments we notice.
The sunset painted the clouds in shades of pink and gold, and for a moment I could see what looked like an angelfish floating across the sky. It felt like a little surprise from nature, one of those moments that reminds me to keep looking up.
The silhouettes of the palm trees stretched across the evening sky while the graffiti walls added their own colorful story below. The waves crashed against the breakwater, sending water high into the air as the pelicans glided effortlessly toward the glowing clouds.
One of my favorite parts of every walk is looking back instead of rushing home. Seeing people stop to admire the sunset reminds me that beauty has a way of bringing strangers together, even if only for a few quiet minutes.
As I walked back to my car, I turned around one last time. The Venice sign was glowing, and just beyond it, the crescent moon hung softly in the sky. My camera couldn’t quite capture how beautiful it looked, but that’s okay. Some moments are meant to be remembered with our hearts instead of our lenses.
“Maybe living your best life just means slowing down enough to see how good it already is.”
Tonight, I did.
Grateful.
Capturing beauty, sharing light.
