Morning Reflections
Petals and Perches
This morning, the canal felt like a gallery— flowers bursting in color, each one striking in its own way. Reds like laughter, yellows like song, purples like dreams tucked into petals. And in those purple blooms: a bumblebee, floating in joy. He was home. I could feel it. It reminded me how beauty is never uniform. Each flower different. Each one perfect. Just like us. Later at the beach, my flock gathered slowly. Pegleg didn’t bark today, but his presence was still loud in love. Honey Girl found her spot on my shoulder without hesitation. Clubby touched down, that one-footed balance always so sure. Domino hasn’t arrived yet—but she has a way of showing up when it matters. These mornings are the spark in my day. They make everything brighter. They make me feel seen.
Today's Gratitude
- Grateful for the color in things that grow.
- For bees who remind us joy is found by staying still.
- And for the soft landings of birds who choose me.
