Morning Reflections
Personalities on the Pier…
Peaceful Saturday mornings on the pier are my favorite way to begin the day. The air was soft, the light gentle, and the birds—my familiar companions—were already waiting. Adonis stood high on his pole, surveying the scene like a sentinel. Honey Girl nestled on my shoulder, her trust always feels like a gift. Lucky perched on top of my phone, curious and playful. And Clubby—sweet Clubby—was there too. She only has one foot now, after getting caught in fishing line and string. That’s why I’m so careful. I pick up every bit of string, every piece of fishing line I see. Because it only takes a second to change a bird’s life forever. They each have their own personalities, their own ways of showing excitement when they see me. It’s one of the most beautiful parts of my mornings—being recognized, being greeted, being loved in feathers and flight. And just as I was leaving, Alexander the Seagull made his dramatic entrance, chasing everyone away like he always does. It’s a little wild, a little tender, and completely perfect. I’m so grateful for these moments.
Morning Gratitude Thought:
Grateful for Adonis, Honey Girl, Lucky, Clubby, and even Alexander the Seagull. Grateful for the joy they bring, the trust they offer, and the reminder that kindness can change a life.
