Evening Reflections
Make Your Mark…
Tonight’s walk in gratitude took me to the beautiful Venice Canals, where everything seemed to be reflecting something else. The homes, palm trees, fading sky and little bridges were mirrored so perfectly in the still water. It felt like the whole evening was asking me to slow down and look a little closer.
There were ducks everywhere, and one little duck completely stole the show. She was taking the most enthusiastic bath, splashing around and then standing up to flap her wings as if she didn’t have a care in the world. Pure joy in the simplest moment.
Then I spotted the great blue herons and snowy egrets gathered around a canoe. What a beautiful sight. Nature always seems to arrange its own little scenes, and somehow I’m lucky enough to stumble upon them.
And then, for one glorious split second, I actually had all of my ducks in a row.
Maybe that’s all we really get sometimes. Life doesn’t have to stay perfectly organized. We just appreciate those little moments when everything seems to line up.
Tonight’s message was, “Make your mark in this world.”
And I think we make our mark in more ways than we realize. Through kindness. Through love. Through showing up. Through caring for something outside ourselves. Sometimes the smallest ripple travels farther than we will ever know.
Another beautiful sunset. Another reminder to notice the little things.
Grateful. Always. 🤍
Capturing beauty, sharing light.
