Lucky Found His Way Tonight…
Tonight’s sunset walk along the canals was filled with color. The flowers were absolutely beautiful, blooming in shades of yellow, pink, red and purple while the last light of the day painted the clouds above them.
My message tonight said:
“Chase your dreams with a heart full of sunshine and watch the world light up the magic you create!”
But tonight ended up becoming about a different kind of light.
Earlier, while I was on the pier sweeping, I noticed a little pigeon sitting all alone in the corner. When I got closer, I realized his eyes were swollen shut. He couldn’t see, and I knew I couldn’t leave him there.
After watching the sunset, I wrapped him safely in a towel and drove him to Bruce in Palos Verdes so he could get the help he needed.
I named him Lucky. 🍀
Maybe Lucky really was lucky tonight, but I feel pretty lucky too. Out of all the places I could have been and all the moments I could have walked by, I saw him.
Sometimes being exactly where you are is enough to change the course of another little life.
Tonight I’m grateful for the beautiful flowers, the colors in the sky, another sunset, and most of all, that I found Lucky when he needed someone.
When Lucky couldn’t see his way to help, help saw him.
So grateful. Good night.
Capturing beauty, sharing light.
