Morning Reflections
Lucky Enough to Notice…
This morning felt like a quiet little blessing written across the sky.
The ocean was calm but alive, waves rolling in like steady breaths, and the light had that soft golden touch that makes everything feel just a little more magical. And right on cue… Pegleg.
He was the first to greet me again.
He always is.
There’s something so comforting about that—like being remembered by the morning itself. He doesn’t hesitate, doesn’t question, just finds me. Every single time. And in a world that can feel so busy and uncertain, that kind of consistency feels like a gift.
The pier was lined with my beautiful pigeon friends, perched along the rail like they were waiting for the day to begin. Domino came when I called her, just like always, and Honey Girl stayed close—making sure everyone knew she was still in charge of her spot.
There’s a rhythm to these mornings now.
A quiet understanding.
A shared joy.
And then, as if the morning hadn’t already given enough, I started walking back… and there he was.
A little squirrel, peeking out from the tree, looking right at me like,
“Hey… don’t forget about me.”
And I smiled, because how could I?
It reminded me how much beauty is always around us—waiting, not for perfection, but simply to be noticed.
Today, on St. Patrick’s Day, I held onto this thought:
“May the dreams you hold dearest be those which come true, and the kindness you spread keep returning to you.”
Because that’s exactly what it feels like out here.
Kindness returning in the form of wings flying toward me.
In tiny footsteps on wood.
In familiar faces that don’t need words.
In moments that ask nothing… but give everything.
I am so grateful for these mornings.
Grateful to feel them, to see them, to live them.
And most of all…
grateful to notice. 🍀✨
Capturing beauty, sharing light.
