Evening Reflections

Luck of the Light…

The marina at sunset holds a quiet magic that feels like a pause button for the soul. Tonight, the sailboats were still — perfectly anchored, perfectly calm — like they had made a pact with the water to stop moving long enough for the sky to admire itself in the mirror below.

I walked the harbor path slowly, letting peace lead the way. The air was soft, carrying the faint scent of ocean and evening bloom. Along the garden edge, a hibiscus reached outward, petals stretched toward the fading light like hands lifted in prayer. Even at the end of the day, it was leaning toward warmth, toward glow, toward hope. A reminder that light is always worth reaching for, even when it feels almost gone.

There’s a sweetness in keeping commitments to yourself. No sun touching your skin doesn’t mean no sunset in your heart. I never miss the ritual. I never miss the wonder. And when I take a step back and look at it all — the boats, the blooms, the golden threads pulling the day closed — I can’t help but feel deeply grateful for this life.

Capturing beauty. Sharing light.

That’s my evening prayer, written in color.

Evening Gratitude Thought:

Take a step back.

Look at it all.

The beauty we get is luck, yes —

but the gratitude we give is ours to own.

Even when the boats are still

and the sun slips away softly,

light lingers in the places that reach for it.

Tonight, I reached too
