Morning Reflections
Love as My Guide…
What a beautiful Labor Day morning on the pier. The sky was absolutely incredible, filled with dramatic clouds and little openings of light that made everything feel almost magical.
As always, Pegleg came over to greet me. I love that he makes sure we find each other. And then, here came the wings. One after another, the pigeons began flying toward me and overhead, turning an ordinary morning into their own little celebration.
And then the sky gave me a surprise… a rainbow.
Against those dark clouds, that little burst of color felt like such a beautiful reminder to keep looking up. The ocean below was unbelievably calm and glassy, reflecting the changing sky.
One of my sweetest moments was Romeo coming to me when I called him. He knows his name now! There is something so special about earning the trust of these little souls and realizing that they recognize you, remember you, and choose to come to you.
The pigeons eventually lined up along the railing, Adonis was in his usual lookout spot, and wings continued passing overhead. Out in the distance, a lone sailboat quietly drifted across that beautiful glassy water.
The quote I carried with me this morning felt perfect:
“With love as your guide, your path will be filled with warmth and light.”
Maybe that path sometimes looks like a wet pier after the rain. Maybe the light comes through a break in the clouds. Maybe it arrives on wings, in a rainbow, or in a little bird who comes running when you call his name.
There is so much beauty waiting for us when we slow down enough to notice it.
So grateful for this beautiful Labor Day morning, for the wings, the rainbow, the ocean, and all these little souls who continue to fill my life with warmth and light.
Capturing beauty, sharing light.
