Evening Reflections
Light Up the World Around You…
Tonight’s sunset at El Porto Beach felt powerful and gentle at the same time. The kind of evening that slows you down whether you mean to or not. The sky softened into layers of warm gold, peach, and quiet blue while big waves crashed with a confidence that felt both wild and reassuring.
I couldn’t stop watching the pelicans. They glided above the water in perfect synchronization, wings stretched wide, moving as if they were part of the ocean itself. There’s something so calming about the way they trust the wind, letting it carry them exactly where they need to go.
Along the shoreline, a little sanderling ran back and forth as waves thundered behind him. He was so small compared to the ocean, yet completely fearless and determined. Watching him made me smile. A reminder that bravery doesn’t always look big. Sometimes it looks like tiny feet moving forward anyway.
One pelican stood alone out in the surf, waves crashing all around him. He didn’t flinch. He just stayed steady, grounded, and calm in the chaos. It felt symbolic. A quiet lesson from nature about standing strong even when things feel loud.
As the sun dipped lower, I held up my message to the glowing horizon: “Your positive energy can light up the world around you.” In that moment, it felt undeniably true. Energy ripples outward just like the waves. What we carry inside ourselves doesn’t stay contained. It touches the world, the people, and even the moments we pass through.
Tonight reminded me that light comes in many forms. In sunsets. In birds gliding overhead. In fearless little shorebirds. And in the simple choice to show up with an open heart. Grateful for nature’s reminders and for evenings that quietly change you.
