Evening Reflections

Hidden Sun in the Harbor…

Tonight, in Marina del Rey, everything softened.

The boats rested gently in their slips, their reflections stretching and dancing across the water like quiet brushstrokes. The sky faded from warm gold to a hush of blue, and the palms stood tall, silhouetted like they’ve seen a thousand sunsets just like this… and still show up for every single one.

A boat moved slowly through the harbor, cutting a path through the calm, reminding me how peaceful it can be to simply move forward without force.

Along the path, the hibiscus were still reaching—open, bright, and full of life—even as the day was closing. That contrast always gets me… endings and beginnings happening at the same time.

And then this thought landed so gently:

“Sometimes we think we are a small flame, but hidden within us is the sun.”

Standing there, watching the light reflect across the water, it felt true.

We’re not as small as we sometimes believe.

There’s something steady and powerful within us… always there, even when the sky dims.

Grateful for this reminder.

Grateful for this view.

Grateful for today.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
