Evening Reflections

Focus on the Beautiful Parts of Life…

Tonight’s sunset on the Venice Canals felt like a gentle reminder to slow down and notice all the little things that make life beautiful.

The water was so peaceful, reflecting the palm trees, the fading light, and eventually the moon glowing above. I could have sat there all night watching those reflections dance across the water. There’s something about reflections that makes an already beautiful moment feel almost magical.

A snowy egret and a duck looked like they were having their own little race across the canal, while a tiny hummingbird sat high in a tree as if he were asking me to stop and notice him. Of course I did. 🤍

Everywhere I looked there were splashes of color from the flowers along the canals. Even a sweet little cat was watching me as I walked by, quietly taking in the evening right along with me.

And then there was that perfect little reminder:

“Focus on the beautiful parts of life.”

Because they really are everywhere. In a flower. In a bird perched in a tree. In two little friends racing across the water. In a curious cat. In the moon reflected beneath you instead of above you.

Sometimes joy doesn’t ask for our attention loudly. It simply waits for us to notice.

Tonight, I noticed. And I’m so grateful for another beautiful day.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
