Evening Reflections

Dancing at Day’s End…

Tonight’s sunset in Marina del Rey felt like a deep exhale.

The sky softened into warm golds and quiet oranges, wrapping the marina in calm. Boats rested without urgency, the water barely moving, as if everything agreed to slow down together. It was one of those walks where nothing is missing and nothing needs fixing.

As I stood watching the water, a small Western Grebe appeared, circling and spinning with so much joy it looked like he was dancing. Each turn sent gentle ripples across the surface, as if the water itself was applauding. He moved freely, without effort or destination — just pure presence and play.

Moments like this remind me how much beauty exists when we pay attention. The day didn’t end loudly. It closed softly, gracefully, with a dancer on the water and peace settling in my heart.

I am deeply grateful for quiet walks, unexpected joy, and the gentle reminders that happiness doesn’t have to be chased — sometimes it simply glides by.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.

Evening Gratitude Thought:

Grateful for sunsets that slow me down, quiet water that listens, and a little grebe who reminded me that joy can look like a dance.

Residential buildings silhouetted against a vibrant orange sunset sky create a dramatic urban skyline.
