Evening Reflections

Blessed Beyond Belief, Thankful Beyond Words…

Tonight’s sunset at Burton Chace Park felt like the marina slowly exhaling. The sky turned soft shades of gold and amber as the sun slipped behind the harbor. Sailboat masts stood tall like quiet silhouettes, and the water reflected the last light of the day in gentle ripples.

Pelicans floated peacefully on the water, drifting like little boats of their own. Watching them glide across the marina always reminds me how calm and effortless nature can be.

Above the water, cormorants were flying south across the ocean. Two of them landed in a tree and balanced together on the branches, perfectly still against the fading light. It looked like they were pausing for a moment before continuing their journey.

One of my favorite things about sunset is how everything slows down. The boats stop moving, the birds settle in, and the world feels quieter.

As I walked back toward my car, the evening had one more surprise for me. A little squirrel popped up in the grass and stood upright, looking around as if he was watching the sunset too.

Moments like this remind me how much beauty lives in the small details.

The birds, the water, the golden sky, and even a curious squirrel can turn an ordinary evening into something magical.

Standing there in the glow of the last light, I couldn’t help but feel exactly what my message said:

“Blessed beyond belief. Thankful beyond words.”

And sunsets like this make that feeling impossible to ignore.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
